Originating in Lawrence, Kansas, the Horsefeather is a whiskey cocktail that has become a beloved staple in the Kansas City region. This 1990s classic, served in a highball glass, combines the robust flavors of rye whiskey or bourbon with the refreshing kick of ginger beer, complemented by the depth of Angostura bitters and a zesty finish of fresh lemon.
Recipe:
1. Add ice to your highball glass.
2. Pour in 1.5 ounces of Bluegrass Distillers (choose your favorite variety).
3. Add 4 ounces of ginger beer.
4. Incorporate 3 dashes of Angostura bitters.
5. Finish with the squeeze of a fresh lemon or a lemon garnish.

San Francisco Pisco Punch:
Transport yourself to the Gold Rush era with the San Francisco Pisco Punch, a delightful creation born in the heart of California during the 1849 Gold Rush. Named after the San Francisco 49ers, this cocktail features Pisco, a grape brandy originating from Peru. In order to put a Bluegrass Distillers twist on the cocktail we replaced the Pisco with our Midway Distilling Company Sauternes Cask Finished Rye Whiskey, pineapple juice, lime juice, and simple syrup.
Recipe:
1. In a shaker, combine 2 ounces of Midway Distilling Company Sauternes Cask Finished Rye Whiskey, 1 ounce pineapple juice, 1 ounce lime juice, and 1 ounce simple syrup.
2. Fill the shaker with ice and shake well.
3. Strain the mixture into a lowball or whiskey glass.
4. Garnish with cherries and/or mint.
5. Enjoy the golden flavors of the West!
